Highs & Lows
The main challenge is the self-directed blended format: much of the coursework runs through Apex Learning online, so students have to stay disciplined and manage their own pace between the twice-weekly class sessions. For learners still building English proficiency or basic computer confidence, keeping momentum across the full Introductory-to-Capstone sequence — and scheduling the proctored on-campus assessments — can be challenging.
The most rewarding part is building real, job-ready computer and office skills at no cost. Gaining hands-on command of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, working toward a recognized Microsoft Office Specialist credential, and being able to study alongside high school diploma courses if needed gives participants an accessible, low-pressure path into office and administrative work.
