Before You Start

Frequently asked questions

No, use of altPath is completely free.

By partnering, your program participants may be eligible for altAid, our hardship grant. altAid helps cover some of the costs that can keep someone from finishing training, such as materials, supplies, and everyday living expenses. It's designed to close the gap between enrolling in a program and completing it.

Any altPath user who finds and enrolls in a non-4-year bachelor degree program is eligible to apply. First they must submit confirmation that they have enrolled in a program and we must confirm the program is eligible.

$350

Most programs featured on altPath are eligible for altAid, as long as they are not a bachelor degree program. Here are some additional requirements:

  • Programs must be based in the U.S. and lead to a credential recognized by an accreditation organization or industry group.
  • Applicants must not have received an altAid grant within the past 12 months.

Yes! The best way to do this is through a signed Release of Information. To do so, we’d just need to know:

  1. Do you have a Release of Information you use with clients?
  2. If yes, can you get signed consent for altPath to share information about their activity with the case manager/program?

Yes! Every training program goes through a strict approval process before it's added to our site.

Once you complete the interest form, you'll meet with a designated altPath staff member who will walk you through the platform. From there, you'll receive a partner code to share with your program participants.

We do! Once you're a partner, just email our Partnerships & Programs Manager, Lindsey, to set one up.

Not currently. Our staff workshops are designed to train your team to confidently navigate altPath with your program participants. Since your staff are the ones working directly with participants, we want to make sure they're fully equipped.

Just two things: use our platform, and stay engaged with our team. We hold Quarterly All-Partner Meetings (you'll get an invite through our newsletter) — a chance to hear updates and share your feedback.

No — though we will provide a partnership overview that outlines what you'll have access to. No signature required.
