Program Philosophy
NPower believes that talent is equally distributed but opportunity is not. The IT Support Specialist program was created to break down systemic barriers facing young adults from under-resourced communities, giving them access to industry-recognized credentials and professional networks that lead to family-sustaining careers in tech — without cost as a barrier.

Highs & Lows
The pace and intensity can be demanding. However, we intentionally design our program to challenge students because we know it prepares them for real-world careers in tech. What makes the difference is the level of support our students receive throughout their journey. From instructors and Advocacy & Support Managers to our Career Readiness team and broader staff, we surround our students with a strong network of guidance and encouragement. Our goal is not just to help them get through the program, but to ensure they have the tools, confidence, and support needed to reach their goals.
NPower is a tuition-free (no-cost) program that gives participants the opportunity to earn more than one industry-recognized certification, helping students build both confidence and competitive skills for today’s job market. Beyond training, we connect students to career readiness opportunities and placement pathways through apprenticeships, internships, and direct-hire opportunities.
Entry-level IT support → mid-level systems administrator (sysadmin) or network engineer (3–5 yrs) → senior IT roles or specialization in cybersecurity/cloud (5–10 yrs). Many grads earn $55K–$80K+ within 5 years.
