Highs & Lows
The biggest challenge is the pace: students cover a full EKG curriculum — cardiovascular anatomy, waveform interpretation, calculating heart rate and rhythm, and recognizing arrhythmias and artifacts — in just three weeks. Keeping up with four-hour evening lectures three nights a week while balancing work or family, then absorbing dense technical material quickly enough to be exam-ready, can be challenging.
The most rewarding part is how fast students go from no experience to hands-on competence. Practicing on real 3-, 5-, and 12-lead EKG machines during Saturday clinicals, and walking away in under a month with the skills and eligibility to sit for a national certification, gives participants a quick, tangible entry point into healthcare.
